E-Mobility in Northeast India: Charging Infrastructure Trends
20 April 2026 · Sahil Jain
India's 2030 target of 40% electric mobility puts charging infrastructure squarely in focus, and that's especially true in regions like the Northeast where public charging density still lags the national metros.
Demand is picking up fastest around two segments: commercial fleets looking to cut fuel costs, and residential buyers who want home charging paired with their rooftop solar system rather than a separate grid draw.
We're seeing the strongest early interest in AC Type-2 home/workplace charging, with DC fast-charging sites concentrated along key commercial corridors — infrastructure that will need to keep pace as EV adoption accelerates through the decade.
